Large Vintage 1960-1970's Oval Shaped Clear Glass JAJ Pyrex Casserole Dish Porcelain & CeramicsManufactured by JAJ (James A. Jobling) during the 1960s and into the first year of the 1970s, this item is a vintage Pyrex clear glass casserole dish with handles designed on the longitudinal ends. The dish unfortunately does not come with a lid. JAJ began manufacturing in 1885 and acquired the patent rights to produce Pyrex in 1921. JAJ produced Pyrex wares from 1921 until 1971. In 1973 Corning took control of the company. The dish is marked
A charmingly and attractive
Stamped underneath Barratts of Staffordshire Ltd Balmoral England as well as stamped in black Barratts Made in England
between 1944 and1968
The bowl has a scalloped rim and fluted sides
height of spout: 6
It also has two very tiny chips on the rim (please see picture)
These items have been well-used and have seen much gold loss due to this use
In 1968 J&G Meakin joined with Midwinter and in 1970 they were taken over by the Wedgwood group
London under their Regent Plate trade name
The pattern displays a burgundy red border highlighted by tan scroll patterning with gold trim along scalloped rims
they were originally obtained with the Levesley Brothers coffee pot
The creamer is stamped underneath in gold Alfred Meakin England
